Informative Imo there are exactly four good builds in the game. At least when you're using/facing assaults on a regular basis. When you're fumbling around in mediums early game you have a bit more leeway, particularly when it comes to Master Tactician. - EVASIVE MOVEMENT + ACE PILOT + SENSOR LOCK. This is a build for light scouts.

MechWarrior skills and progression I've seen a lot of good discussion about balance issues on this sub but one thing I can't recall seeing is criticism of the way the pilot skill system in HBS Battletech works.

Your avatar pilot (You) cannot die. There are 4 different skills with 8 abilities. Each mechwarrior can get 2 abilities from one skill and 1 ability from one other skill. The first skill of guts is required for the Bulwark strategy while both piloting abilities is highly recommended for the evasion strategy.
